Dodged a MAJOR bullet
I am eternally grateful to the universe for sparing me & M a total shit storm in regards to Hurricane Irene. We didn't have to evacuate, in our home we never lost power, no big tree limbs fell in the backyard and the basement stayed dry.
Photos and videos of beach shots before and after the storm to follow soon.
Best wishes to all others affected by the storm - may you have a speedy and smooth recovery.

Garden State Surfing
Right now I'm supposed to be studying for a big Anatomy & Physiology test I have tomorrow but I'm procrastinating instead. I also realize I haven't posted anything to this blog in about a month.

Here's a little something from an event I went to in late July at the Tuckerton Seaport... New Jersey surf photographers showing off their work at an event called "Singlefins, Boardwalks, And Story Talks: An Evening Of New Jersey Surf History"
Please enjoy two photos I shot. Someday I'll post more from this event and others I've been promising links for - I'll get around to it eventually. Keep checking back...

Everyone likes a little dip in the pool, right?
A little bit ago I spoke to Elizabeth at SurfAid International and she told me not a whole lot of people have signed on to swim the New Jersey Swim4Humanity event. In fact, NYC is far outstripping NJ in total swimmers.
C'mon New Jersey!! We can't have that, can we?!
So while I've been badgering readers to sponsor me and my efforts to raise money for this amazing charity, I probably should have been encouraging people to sign up as well.
Please consider joining in - and if you can't, at least please make a donation.
Mahalo!

Can you find your phone number?

Back from the days before the internet and needing to dial the area code first. Oh yeah, and mobile phones.

foggy jerze

Last summer... early morning, foggy surf sesh. No one out but us.
I made a little photo essay of images from this session, please go check it out here. If you vote "YEAH" for my essay it might get published in the next issue of JPG Magazine. I think that would be pretty cool.

given the gravity of my previous post, i think we sometimes need to be reminded there is still beauty in this world. two weekends ago on 3 november there was a massive swell that came to our new jersey beaches.

this is one of the better shots i managed to get off in the fading light of the day. it's hard to tell, but that wave is about ten feet. it was an amazing day to witness.
